COVID-19 Update

Hi all,

Because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are certainly living during a very challenging time.

One of the things I learned from listening to Pastor Chuck Smith’s sermons over the years was this: ‘When faced with what we don’t understand, fall back on what we do understand’.

Here are some of the things that I understand from the Bible…

(1)  Jesus is never surprised – He knows all things (1 John 3:20).  So, He always knew that there would be a ‘COVID-19’.  He also knows the exact date that it will be brought under control so that our lives can return to ‘normal’.

(2)  God loves us more than our human intellects can fully comprehend.  If you’re a parent or grandparent and love your kids and grandkids with all your heart – please remember that He loves them (and you) more than you are humanly able to.  He is the Perfect Father.  He loves us so much that He put on a man’s body, and came to earth to teach us how to live, and to eventually die on a cross for our sins (John 3:16).  He promises us “…that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).  Because His Love is pure and perfect, we know that when we ask Him for help in times of need, He will provide us with the perfect answer for our request.  (See Matthew 7:9-11)

(3) Because of Who God is, there is no need for us to be afraid.  In 2 Timothy 1:7, Paul wrote: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”  So, we don’t need to live in fear.  But we do need to ask God for wisdom, so we can make the right decisions during this difficult time.  James 1:5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, Who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him”.  So, for whatever situation you face, ask Jesus sincerely, with every ounce of faith that you have in your heart, and He will guide you.  Think about what you would do if your child or grandchild cried out to you for help – your whole world would stop, and you would give them everything you have in your power to give.  Well, God will do the same for us – but with one important difference: He’ll do it a lot better, since He is infinitely Powerful and Mighty, King of kings and Lord of lords.  When He gives His children everything He has to give, it’s infinitely better than we humans can ever hope to give.  So, look up, fix your eyes on Him, and be at peace.  God allows challenges to enter every life – but they’re all for a greater purpose.  He won’t let you down.

Our Service Times…

We will keep this site updated daily as necessary, to let you know about services, etc., depending on whatever regulations are determined for the common good by our political leaders.  We are meeting inside of our church building again, starting on Wednesday 6/10.

We are now meeting inside of church again.  We will continue our webcasts of services as well; you can view current or previous services by selecting the Facebook link here on our website.  You can watch without having a Facebook account – just keep scrolling down and ignore any pop-up requests (or clicking on ‘Not Now’) until you see the webcasts.

Sunday Night Worship and Prayer at 6:30PM

        Cancelled for now.

Please, please, please keep praying…

for our country, and the entire world, that through God’s power COVID-19 will soon cease to be an issue.  May Jesus cure it sovereignly, or through granting wisdom to human vessels.  Please never forget that “…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” (James 5:16)

And, please hang in there – don’t be afraid to contact us through our website or by calling the church.  If we can help you in any way, even if to just say a prayer together, please contact us.

Because Jesus is faithful and good, I firmly believe that:

(1)  We will get through this.

(2)  We will ultimately emerge stronger and more unified, because we will experience Jesus’ faithfulness first-hand.

Amidst the challenges we face, we have great opportunity to show the love of Christ to others.  What a message we have to share – that Jesus is the Answer to COVID-19, as well as every other difficulty this world has to offer!

If you would like to contact us, you can do so by clicking on ‘Contact’ on our Home Page.
